

She spent her early years in East Tennessee as a member of a large pioneer family. Moving to Clarinda, Iowa after the death of her father. Starting work at an early age as times were hard, but loved life and had lots of friends. In the early 1940’s she moved to Corpus Christi where she raised her sons, Earl Andrew Loomis and James (Jimmy) Edward Loomis. She married William (Bill) Brown in 1956 which they had 55 happy years together.
She had a passion for gardening always able to grow anything, loved her beautiful roses sharing them with family and friends. Was a great story teller, no one could quite tell a story like Grandma Brown. A wonderful cook, would be in the kitchen frying fish for the family, or making biscuits and gravy for a grandkid. But was always ready to go fishing at the Naval Base, caught a 42 pound drum at age 84,wouldn't let anyone help reel it in, but it was pretty, and had to let it go.
Stella is preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Bertie Cline, husband, William (Bill) Brown, son, Jimmy Loomis, and two sisters, Anna and Minnie.
First and foremost, She loved and put her family before everything. She is survived by son Earl Loomis (Patricia) of Corpus Christi, brother Elbert Cline of Clarinda, Iowa, grandchildren: Debra Loomis-Patrick (Charles) of Corpus Christi, Connie Hartmann (Lee) of Poth, Texas, Audra Ritter (Garren) of Schertz, Texas, Aaron Loomis (Janice) of Corpus Christi, Lisa Loomis-Gordon (Scott) of Chesapeake, Virginia. Twelve great- grandchildren, and three Great-Great grandchildren.
She had requested for family and friends to gather together to eat good food, laugh, and tell favorite stories.
