

Sylvia Jean Kofford, born on January 21, 1928, in Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully in Houston on December 7, 2025, at the age of 97. She was the beloved daughter of Charlie Kiening and Valeska Schnider, whose love and guidance shaped the remarkable woman she became.
Sylvia grew up in Corpus Christi and graduated from Miller High School in 1945. She lived a long and meaningful life, marked by her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and enduring kindness. While residing in Corpus Christi, she was a devoted parishioner of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she found comfort, community, and faith.
Sylvia found great joy in the simple beauty of the world around her, especially in flowers. She had a special fondness for carnations and wildflowers, with Texas bluebonnets holding an especially dear place in her heart. Their bright colors and delicate charm reflected the warmth she brought to those who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith Kofford and son, Bryan Kofford. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Julie Marie Kofford.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Sylvia’s well-lived life.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
