On December 14, 2025, Thomas Hudson Jr. passed away at the age of 53, leaving behind a space that can never be filled and a love that will never fade. Thomas was a devoted father, a proud brother, and a friend to everyone he met. He was born on February 21, 1972, in Wellington, Texas, and from the very beginning lived his life with heart, humor, and an open spirit.
Thomas was a proud graduate of Mathis High School, where he played football — a passion that stayed with him for life. He was a true jack of all trades, never afraid of hard work, and spent five dedicated years working for the Port of Corpus Christi. But more than any job or title, Thomas was most proud of his family.
Family meant everything to Thomas. He loved fiercely and showed up fully for the people he cared about. He found joy in the simple things — barbecuing with loved ones, fishing and camping, watching his Dallas Cowboys, and sharing laughs that came easily and often. He especially treasured time spent with his loyal dog, Angel, who was never far from his side.
Thomas had a rare gift: he never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone, anywhere, and somehow leave them smiling. His laughter was contagious, his kindness genuine, and his presence unforgettable. To know Thomas was to feel welcomed, heard, and valued.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Hudson Sr., and his mother, Herlinda Castro, whom he loved deeply.
Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love in his daughters, Helinda (Christina) Hudson and Irene Martinez; his son, Joe Cantu; his sister, Irma Rodriguez; his brothers, Charlie (Alicia) Hudson and Leroy (Rosa) Castro; and his precious granddaughters, Isabella and Roslyn, who brought him immense pride and joy.
A memorial service honoring Thomas’s life will be held on January 24, 2026, at Funeraria Del Angel at 4:00 pm. Though he is no longer with us, Thomas’s love, laughter, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
