On April 28, 2011, Estanislada “Tina” Ruiz Castillo began the next step in her life’s journey. She passed away at age 91, with her loving family by her side. She was born September 9, 1919 in Karnes City, Texas. She resided in Corpus Christi most of her life. She worked at Astor’s Restaurant for over 50 years doing many duties like cooking and baking. Tina’s feisty personality will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco F. Castillo. She is survived by her loving daughter, Julia G. Martinez of Corpus Christi, TX and one son, Frank Gonzalez from Lake Havasu City, AZ; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
