Tomasa S. Gutierrez

She was born and raised in Kingsville, Texas. She retired from Driscoll ISD as a teacher’s aid. She was a devout Catholic. Her fondest memories include celebrating her 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2003 with her family and friends. She loved to travel whenever possible and had many other cherished memories.

Tomasa is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Emilia Sanchez; brother, Henry Sanchez, Sr. and her grandson, Gilbert Garcia, Jr.

She leaves behind her family to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 56 years, Victor M. Gutierrez Sr.; children, Debra Ann (Gilbert) Garcia, Victor (Cassandra) Gutierrez Jr., Tomasita (Eduardo) Rodriguez, Susan (Arturo) Gomez, Richard (Christina) Gutierrez; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Emilia Palacios, Mary Walz, Alicia (Gil) Flanders, Esther (Abel) Rodriguez and Minerva (Joe) Salcido and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Corpus Christi Cathedral with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
