Veronica “Ronnie” Barrera Salinas, age 57, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2024. A lifelong resident of Corpus Christi, Ronnie was born on March 11, 1967, to parents Jose Medina Barrera and Aurora Cadena Barrera.
Ronnie graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1985. She decided to further her education and received her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Del Mar College. Ronnie was married to Jose “JR” Salinas on June 23, 2021.
Ronnie was a kindhearted person who was known to always lend a helping hand to others. She always had a warm smile on her face and could cheer others up with little effort. She always put others first and would consistently check up on those she cared for.
Ronnie was the life of the party and could bring a smile to anyone’s face. She always found happiness in the little things in life, especially her annual vacations with her coworkers from GE Law firm. Ronnie fondly considered them her second family.
Not only does Ronnie leave behind many cherished memories to her family, but also physical ones as well through her love of crafts. She loved to be creative with crafts, scrapbooking, and even in the kitchen baking. Ronnie also loved to watch football and travel, but above all, she loved to spend time with her beloved family and furry friends.
Ronnie leaves her memories and legacy to her husband of six years, JR Salinas; children, Nikki Atkinson, AJ Atkinson, and Tristan Salinas; parents, Jose and Aurora Barrera; and lifelong friends, Dina Adams and Buddy Atkinson, ex-husband and father of her children; and numerous extended family and friends.
