

During her younger years she was a one room school teacher in Seven Sisters, helped her brother in a small town post office, and she worked in the retail grocery business. She then cared for our father for 24 years after a stroke paralyzed him in 1976 until his death in 2000.
She was a proud member of El Divino Salvador Presbyterian Church.
Xochitl is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Apolonio Gomez Jr.; sons in law, Uvaldo Hinojosa Jr., Ruben F. Barrera; brothers, Ocampo R. Cuellar and C.R. Cuellar.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Garza (Mario); Nora G. Barrera, Lydia N. Duenes; beloved grand-daughter, Maricela A. Hinojosa; special cousin, Rosaena Rosas; and numerous nephews, nieces and family and friends.
Family will be receiving family and friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A Special Thank you to Dr. Bill and Mary Albarado who cared for our parents for 46 years and are greatly loved by our family. And to Elda and Carlos Martinez who lovingly cared for our mother during the last month of her illness. We will forever be grateful for your love shown to us during this difficult time.
Masks will be required to be worn by all in attendance of her services.
