

Yolanda Maria Azocar, age 69, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 surrounded by her dearest loved ones. Yolanda was born on August 24,1952 to Domingo Perez and Angelita Davila Perez in Premont, Texas.
On November 13, 1971 in Falfurrias, Texas she married her husband of 50 years, Juan S. Azocar, Jr with her close friends and in-laws present. Shortly after she moved to Ft. Hood, Texas where her husband was stationed while he served in the United States Army. In 1972 she moved to Corpus Christi, Tx where she lived and was blessed with the birth of her daughter, Dilvia Ann, and later her son, Juan S. Azocar, III. She served as PTA President for numerous years until both children moved on to middle school. Her love of her children and their education kept her deeply involved in the school community.
Yolanda served the San Antonio and Corpus Christi community as a Certified Medical Assistant for over 15 yrs in the Assisted Living environment. She loved her job and helping the elderly. She retired to assist her son with the upbringing of his 5 children. Years later she also moved in with her daughter to assist in the upbringing of her greatest love and joy, her great grandson Octiavyus Orion. Yolanda spent her days enjoying time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandsons.
Yolanda’s favorite days were spent having morning quality time with Octiavyus, bringing her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren joy by surprising them with everything from gifts to mangonadas to their favorite meals or shopping with her daughter to find early gifts for the holidays.
Yolanda's strength in her final days was greatly admired by her family. She was a strong fighter. She continued to fight even in her weakest hour. She showed her love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren till the very end. Her sense of humor, deep care for those around her, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed.
Yolanda is preceded in death by: her grandparents Jesus Davila and Chala Davila, parents Domingo and Angelita Perez; her brother, Humberto Perez; and her sister, Maria Veronica Perez Besette.
She is survived by: her husband, Juan S. Azocar Jr; her daughter and son-in-law, Dilvia Ann Azocar-Lerma and Calixto Lerma III; her son, Juan S. Azocar III; and her sister, Angelita (Amadeo) Porras of San Antonio, Tx her brother, Fidel Perez; her four granddaughters Cynthia Ann (Tommy) Stout of Fort Worth Texas, Marika Vanette Azocar( Luis Fortes) of Boston, MA, Samantha Amber Lerma and Valerie Angelita (Jose Aguilar) Azocar both of Corpus Christi, Tx. Her six grandsons, Juan S. Azocar IV of Moorhead, MN, Calixto Juan (Carmen) Lerma of Corpus Christi, Tx, Michael D. Azocar and Joe F. Azocar of Robstown, Tx, Maximino Luis Lerma and Sebastian Andres Lerma of Corpus Christi, Tx and Michael Eric Trotter stationed in Germany while serving the United States Army. five great-grandchildren Nathaniel James and Levi James Stout of Fort Worth Texas, Octiavyus Orion, Kane James and Azrael Constantine Allen of Corpus Christi, Tx along with numerous nieces and nephews that she greatly loved.
At her request, Yolanda will be honored in a small private ceremony on Friday, November 5, 2021 followed by a Celebration of Life for close family and friends on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
