Yolanda Blakeney Carpenter left us to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 7, 2013. She was well known to her friends as Yolie. She was born September 28, 1933 in Harlingen, Texas and later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she spent forty plus years working in the cosmetics industry at Lichensteins, Town and Country Pharmacy and the Airport Gift Shop. Despite her busy career, she gave the best of herself to her family. Yolanda was a well liked woman who always had an ear to listen, arms to comfort, and a heart that gave limitlessly.
She leaves behind her 6 children, Vicki, Sherry, Dale, Eric, Lou Carpenter and Karen Joy; 4 granchildren, Carolyn “CiCi” (and partner Jurl Phillips), Aron, Sarah, and Ryan Carpenter; 3 great-grandchildren, Jolynn and Jordan Thompson, and Madelyn Phillips. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel at 4:00 p.m.
