Young served his country of South Korea in the military branch of the Army where he was a mechanic engineer supervisor to all ground military vehicles, where his love of tinkering and repairing came from.
He wanted a better life for himself and his family so with the help of family that were in the US already, he brought his family from South Korea to the United States in October 16, 1979.
Young was married to his beloved wife, Myong Ok Tak for over 55 years and within those years went to have 6 children. There were so many challenges from adjusting to a new country and culture but he adjusted and thrived in the community, especially in the Korean community where he had numerous friends that he considered as family.
He worked in the oil field for Atlas Tubular for many years since arriving from South Korea. He was a member of Corpus Christi Korean Baptist Church and will be remembered for his love of family, friends, fishing, and always keeping busy. It seemed like there wasn’t anything he couldn’t or wouldn’t try to fix.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grand-daughter, Kassandra; and numerous family members.
Young leaves his loving memories to his wife, Myong; children, Hogan (Maria), Inkun (Claudia), Misuk (Ruben), Miyoung (Mark), Chung Kun (Tha). He is also survived by all his grandchildren who he truly loved, Mikalya, Cindy, Matthew, Jonathan, Darron, Keven, Wayland and Austin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Corpus Christi Korean Baptist Church at 12:30 p.m. with a Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MemoryGardensFuneralHome.com for the Tak family.
