Elaine Casey

Elaine J. Casey, age 59, of West Lafayette, passed away at her home on Friday, January 16, 2015. She was born on June 1, 1955, to Harold and Tresa (Bradt) Markel in Wolf County, Kentucky. Elaine graduated from Gods Bible School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and became a STNA.

On June 4, 1977, she married Lance Casey who survives. Elaine loved helping people. She always had a smile on her face and was nicknamed, “Smiley” as a young child by her uncle, Don. She was a 20 year member of the Nazarene Church and currently was attending the Living Faith Church of the Nazarene in West Lafayette.

She was a wonderful baker and cook; enjoyed collecting cook books; shopping and couponing. Elaine will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her mother, Tresa Markel of Coshocton; husband, Lance Casey of West Lafayette; daughter, April (Don) Riedel of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; two sisters, Connie (Lanny) Gross of Zanesville and Faith D’Ostroph of Minerva; two brothers, Tim (Susan) Markel of Coshocton and Silas (Judy) Markel of Coshocton. Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Harold Markel.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015, from 5:00-8:00pm at the Living Faith Church of the Nazarene, 21066 State Route 751, West Lafayette, Ohio 43845. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor James Lillo officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
