

Hod was born on November 3, 1925 to the late Dwight and Agnes (Dobson) Wolfe in Franklin Township, Coshocton County. He graduated from Conesville High School in 1943 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving on the battleship U.S.S. Indiana in the Pacific during World War II. He married Dorothy “Dot” Horne on December 24, 1949. Hod worked at St. Regis Paper Company in Coshocton, retiring as Assistant Superintendent.
Hod was a founding member of the South Tuscarawas Volunteer Fire Department, an active member of the Coshocton County Sportsmen’s Club over several decades, and a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and skilled trap shooter. Hod loved the outdoors; he rode the countryside on his ATV until he was 86.
Hod is survived by two sons, Perry (Teresa) Wolfe of Coshocton and Mark (Nancy) of Utica, one daughter, Janell Wolfe (Leslie Reed) of Fairfax, VA, one brother, Dick (Yvonne) Wolfe of Dresden, one sister, Libby Shafer of Coshocton, five grandchildren, Niki (Doc) Edmunds of Coshocton, Lincoln M. Wolfe of Florida, Samuel (Kristi) Wolfe of Mount Vernon, Nathaniel Wolfe of Utica, and Daniel Wolfe of Utica, and four great-grandchildren, Adrianne Edmunds, David Edmunds, Spencer Wolfe, and Benjamin Wolfe.
Along with his parents, Hod is preceded in death by his wife Dot, three brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services for Hod will be held at Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens with the Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing military honors. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
