James D. McFadden

James D. McFadden, 66, of Coshocton, Ohio passed away after a short illness on September, 7, 2012. Jim was born in Marion, Ohio in 1945 to James D. and Jean (Linfoot) McFadden. Jim graduated from Hornell High School in Hornell, NY in 1963 and graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. Jim was employed by Ansell Edmont, Inc. as Vice President of Research and Development for 27 years. He then was a founder and President of the Montgomery Group, Inc. in Canton, Ohio. Jim was renowned world-wide for his industrial glove expertise. Jim was married to Kathleen (McLaughlin) McFadden in 1968 in Hornell, NY. Along with his wife of 44 years, Jim is survived by his two daughters Colleen (Scott) Philabaum of Pickerington, Ohio, and Erin McFadden of Westerville, Ohio and two grandsons Jack and Michael Philabaum. He is also survived by his two sisters M.J. (Jay) Wright of West Bloomfield, Michigan and Judy (Bob) Grillo of Arkport, NY. In addition, Jim is survived by his brothers-in-law Marty (Cathy) McLaughlin and Kevin (Becky) McLaughlin. Jim is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many close friends who were always a significant part of his life. Jim was a member of the Society of Plastics Engineers, BPOE Coshocton Elks Lodge #376 and the Knights of Columbus. He devoted his time after retirement to spending time with his grandchildren, traveling with his wife, playing golf with his friends, lunching at the Elks, and special projects with his daughters. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, in Given-Dawson Funeral Home, 186 Park Ave. Coshocton, Ohio, 43812, from 4 to 6pm, with the Coshocton Elks Lodge performing services at 6:00pm followed by a brief memorial service. Per Jim’s wishes cremation will take place and a private service will be held at a later date. Because Jim was so fond of his pets, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter, 21755 TR 164, Coshocton, Ohio, 43812.
