Janet Sue Cheney

Janet was born on May 25, 1941 in Woodsfield, Ohio to the late Robert and Daisy (Barnes) Morris. Janet was a graduate of the 1959 class of Woodsfield High School. On February 23, 1991, she married Charles “Chuck” Cheney, who preceded her in death on January 15, 2008. Janet worked in Coshocton, Ohio as a loan officer for Modern Finance until her retirement. She was a member of the Coshocton Baptist Church. Janet loved spending time with her family; her children and grandchildren were her life.

Janet is survived by her children: Debbe Lehr, Geri (Jeffrey) Leonard, Dana (Sandy) Cheney, and Shelly (Troy) Gamertsfelder; five grandchildren: Tara (John) McFarland, Ashley Kestler, Morgan (Korey) Kelling, Travis Cheney, and Nathan Cheney; five great-grandchildren: Kaden, Evelyn, Jaxon, Cain, and Nova; and three siblings: Donna Ault, Merle (Betty) Morris, and Linda (Robert) Johnson.

Along with her parents and husband, Janet is preceded in death by her brother, Larry (Shirley) Morris, and her brother-in-law, Chester Ault.

Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 1:30-3 p.m. Private funeral services and burial will take place at a later time.
