Michael Leroy Gress

Mike graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1978 and worked for Pretty Products for over 30 years before retiring. On April 4, 1981, Mike married Lori (McCrea) Gress. Mike enjoyed listening to music and restoring vintage stereo equipment. He was a handyman that could fix anything and loved to tinker on things. Mike was a big fan of Ridgewood Football and was a member of the chain gang during every Friday night football game. For over 30 years Mike took yearly fishing tips to Canada with family and friends. He loved spending time with his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his father, Floyd (Lois Dickerson) Gress of West lafayette; his wife of 34 years, Lori Gress of West Lafayette; two children, Nathan Gress of West Lafayette and Christi (Nate) Carpenter of West Lafayette; brother, Jerry (Patty Webb) Gress of Coshocton; sister, Linda (Bill) McCoy of West Lafayette; mother-in-law, Emma McCrea of Fresno ; sister-in-laws, Sue (Terry) McInerney of Coshocton and Peggy Stevens of Newcomerstown; brother-in-law, Jamie (Kelly) McCrea of West Lafayette and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Gress, father-in-law, James McCrea and brother-in-law, Ben Stevens.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Given-Dawson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 pm with Reverend Bill Buckeye officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Fairfield Cemetery.
