Nellie Eleanor Hawkins was born in Coshocton, Ohio, February 8, 1911, the daughter of the late George and Amelia (Arnold) Simkins. She attended school in Pennsylvania and Coshocton. She Married Harry Hawkins in June of 1927. Nellie was employed at the Pope Gosser China Company for 30 years, and was a honorary member of the IBOP. Nellie is survived by a son Harry E. (Ethel) Hawkins of Coshocton. Also a grandson Daniel E. (Christine) Hawkins of Kirkersville, Ohio; three sisters, Helen Uher, Dolly Freeman, and Clara Shearn, all of Coshocton, Ohio; twin half sisters Janice Frazee and Mary Ann Deffenderfer of Jefferson City, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her husband Harry; a daughter Beverly J. Hawkins; three brothers, Harold, Paul, and Donald “Red” Simkins; sister Alice Bell; and half brother George Simkins. Per Nellie’s wishes there will be no public services.
