

He was born November 2, 1946, in Coshocton, OH, and was the only child of the late Robert Park and Margaret (Buffington) McCrea.
He graduated from Alliance High School in 1964 where he played trumpet in the Marching Band. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1968, earning a BS in criminology. He later earned his Series 7 and 8 Licenses, Principal Licenses in Stocks, Bonds, Commodities, and became an Investment Advisor, managing investment offices in different regions while working for Prudential Bache, First Union Security, and helping TIB Bank of the Keys develop their Investment Division. He was an arbitrator with The American Arbitration Association. In June 2020, he was included in Marquis Who's Who.
He loved boating and being on the water. He held his Captain's license for Deep Sea Fishing, and while living in the Florida Keys, would charter fishing trips on the weekends. Some of his fondest memories were spent on the water with his daughters and grandchildren.
He was an avid boater, golfer and loved playing Bridge or any card game. He was fiercely competitive and brutally honest. He carried a deep love for those closest to him and would do anything for them.
He was active in his church and was past manager of the Alliance Food Pantry and served on the Board of the Erie, PA Philharmonic.
He is survived by his partner of 12 years, Renee Hahlen Glosser, two daughters, Michele Stanley (Steve Simon) of Alliance, OH and Stephanie Holmes (Chip) of Oneonta, NY. Five grandchildren: Devon Robertson (Ryan), Donald & Brandon Stanley (Erin Kell), of Alliance, OH, and Porter Andrew & Beckett Emery Holmes of Oneonta. Four great-grandchildren: twins – Bryce and Jett Robertson, Lowen Stanley and Giovanni Vitale of Alliance, OH and his precious fur-baby, Jake.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home at 2: 00pm with Pastor Brian Kittner officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Fresno, Ohio.
