He attended Coshocton High School, the University of Charleston and the University of Dayton. Robert was a Navy Veteran serving during WWII in the South Pacific. He retired from Columbia Gas in 1982, after 25 years of service and was a Deputy Administrator with the Florida Department of Revenue for eight years. Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Elks Lodge of Coshocton, a member of the Coshocton Town and Country Club and a life member of both the American Legion Post 65 and the V.F.W. Post 2040.
Robert was a very loving father and grandfather and will be truly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his children Robert A. (Eileen) Laflin of Columbus and daughter Diane (Jeff) Simmons of Reynoldsburg; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Per Robert’s wishes, a cremation will take place with a graveside service at South Lawn cemetery at a later date.
