Thomas was born in Sonora, Ohio on June 9, 1937 to the late Wesley and Bessie (Callen) King. Thomas honorably served our country from 1954 to 1957 in the Marine Corps, and then in the United Sates Army for 21 years, in which he served as a combat engineer and achieved the rank of Sergeant Major. He served two tours in Vietnam during this time. On December 26, 1961, he married Shirley Alexander. Thomas enjoyed many things in life, but he especially loved hunting.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Shirley, three children: Glenn (Wendy) King, Terri (Darren) Prouty, and Gary (Wendi) King; four grandchildren: Chris Prouty, Trevor King, Meagan Prouty, and Claire King; three sisters: Darlene Tulley, Donna Lloyd, and Kay Nichols; and sister-in-law, Barbara King.
Along with his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his brother, John King.
Per Thomas’s wishes, he will be cremated and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
