

William O. Tate, 67, passed away February 16, 2014. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio on September 27, 1946, the son of the late William Sr. and Pearl (Jackson) Tate. Bill graduated Coshocton High School in 1964. He attended St. Andrews AME Church. Bill served honorably in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed music, walking, and had a great love for children and nature. Bill leaves to celebrate his life, two brothers, Daniel L. Tate and Timothy (Diane) Tate both of Coshocton; special cousins, Howard (Debbie) Dansby of Columbus, Ohio, Carolyn, Blaine, Stephen, Gerald, Anthony, Greg, and Lisa Moore of Massillon, Ohio; one step-sister, Patti Carroll; one step-brother, John Tate; and a host of family and friends. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his grandmother, Bessie Jackson; and four aunts, Dorothy Dansby, Elizabeth Graham, Francis Wood, and Sivila Moore. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 1:00pm with Reverend Dr. Doris Bowers officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery where the Coshocton County Veterans Council will perform military honors.
