I was lucky to be born on Catalina Island to two loving parents. I grew up with a wonderful sister, and a terrific brother. I met my future husband at an Easter week party in Newport Beach, while attending Orange Coast College.
I discovered that I enjoyed his religion and converted to the Catholic faith when I was twenty year old. We decided to get married after he received a his draft notice.
We were blessed to have three wonderful daughters, twelve marvelous grandchildren, and fifteen terrific great grandchildren. My Alzheimer's disease affected my last seven years of life, but I was totally surrounded by family love and assistance.
I was ready to go to God, even though my family wanted me to stay with them on earth. I was so loved by my family, I knew it was time for them to let go.
My family was my life, but my disease must now separate me from them, until the day we are reunited once again forever.
