

Hideshi Nishikawa, age 59, beloved husband of Miwa Nishikawa for 10 years, passed away peacefully in Placentia, CA on August 13, 2022 with his wife by his side. Hideshi was born in Osaka, Japan to Yoshiko and Kazuaki Nishikawa. Hideshi was preceded in passing by his father Kazuaki in1993 and his sister Masako in 2018.
While studying at Kinki University in Osaka, Hideshi pursued his passion of studying abroad and chose to go to Seattle, Washington where he spent few months learning English and meeting new friends. After graduating from Kinki University, he started working in accounting department at HANNAN CORPORATION (current HANEWFOODS INC.). In 1998, Hideshi was transferred to the USA where he started working as controller at Mercury Overseas, Inc. and Unibright Foods, Inc.
In 2009, Hideshi met Miwa, then in 2010, he was diagnosed with rectal cancer. After chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and 3 surgeries, he was finally deemed cancer free after a year. Then on November 14, 2012, Hideshi and Miwa got married. Although they did not have any children, they loved spending their time together at Disneyland, going to concerts, travelling, and watching Angels baseball games from home and at the stadium. They also enjoyed training and running for Run Disney 10K and half marathons and earned many medals together. Hideshi also had passion for photography and took thousands of photos of baseball and other professional sports players, along with nature and night sky photography. He loved sharing those photos with his friends and family.
In 2014, his first metastasis was discovered in his right lung and his cancer treatments started again. Though he underwent multiple surgeries and few months of chemotherapy, Hideshi was in good stable condition until 2020 when his disease spread to multiple locations in his body. While enduring one chemotherapy after another, Hideshi never gave up hope and will to fight. He always found something to smile and laugh about. He always cared about his wife and people around him. In August of 2022, after being hospitalized in ICU for 6 days with serious breathing difficulties, he was able to come home under hospice care on August 11th where he spent short peaceful time with his wife until his final moments.
