I was deeply saddened to hear of the news. 

I worked with Liu as a colleague and as his Manager at Veritas. Liu was a team player and although soft spoken he had the respect of his team through his work and how kind he was to others.

Here we are  at the Main Street Wine Company in downtown HB signing “hello” in  the “Kings English”. 

This was just weeks ago. Still so surreal. So much happiness left the world. It hurts. Miss you dude.

“Once an Areola, always an Areola” 

The Areola football team is one of the original 8 to sign up with Beach City Sports, Still going strong 15 years later! We hold an annual “Friendsgiving” in November to celebrate the  friendship’s made and unbreakable bonds created  This is a photo from 2024 of all those who traveled in to join the event. There’s Liu, front and center.

Good people always find good people. Sports was what bound us. What made it fun was never being on the same side, A’s vs Angels. Raiders vs Chargers. All smiles, all love, all the time.

Liu was a kind and funny guy. He always brought laughter to our daily meet ups at the park with our dogs. He loved Winnie so much, even taking the time to bring and share treats for her and her furry friends! Liu you are greatly missed. RIP my friend.

I had the privilege of working  with Liu at both Veritas and Cohesity over the last 3 years.

He was such a kind soul.  Liu was extremely good at his job but most importantly a great teammate.

He will be missed.

Liu was always a pleasure to work with.  He was a great business partner to our team - when we brought him a problem he diligently set out to do what was needed and get back to us quickly.  He always came to meetings with a positive attitude and light-hearted manner; just a really great guy to work with.  I recall him mentioning taking time off to help celebrate his niece's 1st birthday; he loved his family. His absence will be deeply felt; wishing sincerest condolences to all his family, friends and co-workers.

Liu Pathammavong was the kind of colleague who made every conversation and outcome better. He brought rare qualities to his work and to the people around him: diligence, humility, and a genuine warmth that was impossible to overlook. 

Soft-spoken by nature, he let his work and his kindness do the talking, and both spoke volumes. 

He was, in every sense, a gem. The workplace is a little less bright without him, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Liu’s passing. Liu always brought such great energy and positivity to the team. He was consistently upbeat, incredibly easy to work with, and just an all-around chill and kind person.

He was also deeply dedicated to his work, and that commitment showed in everything he did. Liu made a lasting impression on everyone who had the chance to work with him.

He will truly be missed. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

I would like to share my heartfelt condolences with his family, friends, cliques, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Over the past several months, I had the pleasure of connecting with him from time to time, and each interaction was truly memorable. He was always kind, patient, and willing to help—no matter how small the request. He had a way of making every conversation feel easy and pressure-free, and he consistently showed warmth, respect, and understanding.

What stood out most was his thoughtful nature—he never rushed conversations and was always supportive, often reassuring others with his calm and considerate approach. On a personal note, he used to call me “Jason,” and that small gesture always brought a smile and meant more than I can express.

He will be deeply missed, and my thoughts are with everyone who knew and cared about him.

He was always celebrated by everyone he met. People were drawn to him for peace, laughter and positivity. He has left a mark on so many hearts. 

He was the friend you could always count on. His kindness was rare and he brought many friendships together. I will miss him so very much. My life will never be the same without him.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Liu’s sudden passing. I had the chance to meet him at a work event last fall, and I remember our conversation about great food and whiskey. He was incredibly kind, warm, and funny, and it was clear he had a wonderful spirit. I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to meet him. I only knew Liu for a short time, but he was always friendly and great to work with. Eager to dive into the new software and tools to learn and help contribute to our team. I know this memory is in the professional work environment, but I am sure the same could be said about his everyday interactions. Liu's passion and drive will be missed, but more importantly his general presence that brought a little light to an otherwise mundane job

I was so very saddened to learn of Liu's passing.  I worked with him at Veritas/Cohesity and had the pleasure of meeting him in person a couple times.  He was a lovely man and always so positive, upbeat and helpful.  He will be greatly missed.  My deepest condolences to his family and friends.  May his memory be a blessing always.

I feel incredibly saddened by this loss. Even though I had only recently begun working closely with him, I was struck by how thoughtful and dedicated he was in everything he did. He made collaboration easy and meaningful, and I’m grateful I had the chance to know him. He will be truly missed.
