Warren is the best. When Warren moved to Hong Kong in the early 2000s we became great friends and traveled all over China, Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand for many, many years.

It was so fun traveling with Warren as he had done business all over the world and was all too willing to share and guide me.

His favorite category was natural woven baskets sourced from the Linyi region of northern China in the Shandong province.  Wow, what an experience  learning from the master as we traveled around to the different factories and negotiating with the farmers. I was even more fun digging for new vendors and product at the Canton Fair (old venue). Loved the learning and loved Warren.   Will be very much missed.

Warren’s passing has left a heartfelt emptiness that’s hard to put into words. Every weekend, I would go to his home in Santa Monica so we could do our light exercises and take a few walks together. But the truth is, the exercises were just a small part of why I came. What I really looked forward to were our conversations.

Warren had a way of talking that made you want to listen. He shared wisdom that came from his own life. Lessons about hard work, investing, growing up, and staying steady through challenges. He never lectured. He simply told stories and somehow those stories always stayed with me. With his playful humor and little antics, he made even the simplest moments enjoyable. I often ended up staying far longer than planned. An hour would quietly turn into two or three because time just slipped by when Warren was talking.

He became someone incredibly special to me. In many ways, Warren felt like the father I never had. I will always cherish the hours we spent walking, talking, and laughing. He left an imprint on my life that I will carry forever.

He will be so deeply missed.

Dear Ann, Gwen and the entire Kashuk Family,

My heart is saddened by the news of Warren's passing. I have known Warren and Ann for over 10 years, and those years have been nothing short of exciting on every level. 

Working with him was great; he made things interesting and at many times didn't feel like work, felt like hanging out with a friend 

He was funny, very kind, so caring, and always asking about your life and family. I enjoyed our conversations, and he was very straightforward, as you always knew where you stood with Warren. I will miss him sitting at his table at 270 PBR, talking to and about all who passed by.

Warren and Anne have been friends with the family since as long as I can remember.
Warren always showed up with a warm and calm demeanor and we shared meals and boat trips and just time sitting around on the Bay in Balboa, watching the world go by.  
Most of all, he was so kind to my mother, Rose, and she loved Warren like a brother… we all did!!

I first met Warren in China when he was a client of the company I worked for. Twenty-five years ago — December 10, 2000 — I flew from China to the U.S. On my first night in Los Angeles, I sat in a hotel on Vermont Street watching ten police cars outside, terrified and ready to fly home the next day.

Before leaving, I called Warren just to say hello — he once told me, “If you ever come to LA, call me.” I told him I was heading back because LA wasn’t what I imagined. He asked for my hotel address, and when Warren insisted, you listened. Thirty minutes later, he and Ann were at my door, loading my suitcases into their car — and just like that, my life changed entirely.

They took me to Mao’s Kitchen in Venice Beach — my first American meal — then brought me into their home and treated me like family. They showed me LA, the Zoo, the Rose Parade, new foods, new places. I followed them everywhere, even just on errands, like a little shadow — because everything was new to me, and everything felt exciting.

I spent holidays with their family, visited Newport Beach, stayed at Mara’s for Christmas, played with Hannah and Jessy, and went to Sea World for the first time. Those early months in America were full of joy and new beginnings.

When my visa was expiring, Warren drove me to Tijuana to extend it. Later, when I found work, they drove me across the city looking for an apartment. And when Jeff and I married in 2003 — with my father unable to come from China — it was Warren who walked me down the aisle.

My life would have been completely different without Warren and Ann. They opened every door that followed, and I carry endless gratitude.

I am deeply thankful I was able to see Warren one last time. Though weak, he recognized me — he squeezed my hand, opened his arms to hug me, and reached for my face. I will hold those moments and him in my heart forever.

Our hearts go out to Ann and Family. We have been neighbors for 11 years. I remember him well. The first day I moved into our building he was kind and gracious to me. I always enjoyed visiting him when we passed by his home on the way to the beach and would stop and say hello. He was a beloved figure and caretaker of our buildibg. Dearest Ann, Gwen and the whole family of Warren,
Our deepest condolences and sympathies to you all.  Warren was the reason Doron and I found the place in Santa Monica and became next door neighbors since 2022, though I personally met Warren year of 1997 through a colleague in the shipping industry.
Warren and I travelled to Chicago, Hong Kong and China for meetings and trade shows!  Warren and I would trek miles of trade fairs sourcing for unique items to market in the U.S.  I worked with him importing these items from China to the U.S.  He loved it whenever I would share latest technology on apps to connect people worldwide.  In turn, he would share with me good restaurants he discovered in many parts of world he traveled to.  He has an admiration for my work ethics and that he can reach me 24/7 if he has logistics-related  question. For this reason, Warren referred me to several others importers who also became friends.  The last few years living next door with Warren and Ann, I remember Warren would always come to our place once he smells Doron grilling the Angus burger!  We would have friends / folks in our place but Warren will always walk in and just join the conversation so he became also a familiar face whenever we have family get-togethers (then he would repeat his story on how we met etc etc).  I think he became my number 1 fan!  RIP Warren and trust that we would forever remember you and would not forget to put aside an Angus burger for you whenever we grill:)… Belle
