It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Tait. Born in Melville Saskatchewan she passed peacefully on December 8, 2025 four days shy of her 98th birthday. She was predeceased by her loving husband Delwyn Ray Tait. She will be lovingly remembered by her twin children; daughter Donna Rowe (Brian); son Don (Laura); five grandchildren: nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her parents and her five siblings.
Gladys spent her career working for the Bank of Montreal in a number of capacities ending as an assistant branch manager at her retirement. She happily had more retirement years than a full working career.
Gladys was known as feisty to many; but in a quiet, controlled determined manner. She had a reserved and determined manner to accomplish her goals in her own way. She never raised her voice.
Gladys loved her church in Union Bay and she truly enjoyed playing the organ at the church when the opportunity presented itself. She played on a regular basis until she was 93. However, she came out of retirement each year by request to play the annual Christmas service on the organ and she was looking forward to playing again this year. Sadly, that was not to be.
Gladys also loved her exercise class and her friends at d’Esterre. She was there twice a week, rain or shine to enjoy the company of her friends.
She was a loving wife and mother and a true friend to many and so much more.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 1:30pm at Piercys- Mt Washington funeral home. Please join us in remembering Gladys by visiting our memorial at www.piercysmountwashingtonfuneral.com Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
