Laura passed away peacefully on May 30, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox. She is survived by her 8 children: Charlene, Darrell (Florence), Bradley, Angus (Michelle), Jeffery (Cindy), Shelley (Gerald), Morris (Nova), and Brian (Dee); 5 grandchildren: Tasha, Kevin, Danika, Jarret, and Seth; sisters: Audrey (Ken) Floyd of Qualicum Beach, and Vi (Dean) Sawatzky of Vernon; brother Bob (Laverne) Barnard of Prince George.
Laura was a Chartered member of the Tsolum Rebecca Lodge for over 37 years. She enjoyed spending time at the Courtenay Elks Club, and playing Bingo. Laura had so much love to give; she was a mother to everyone. She will be lovingly remembered by everyone whose lives she touched.
A Memorial Service will be held for Laura on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 1:00pm at Piercy’s Funeral Home, 440 England Ave. Courtenay, BC.
