Margaret Alice Jernslet

Peggy Jernslet passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband Errol in 1992 and her partner Bill Kriwokon in 2018. Peggy is survived by her two children, Eric and Krista (Blair), grandsons, Arlo and Eli, brother Doug Boocock, sisters-in-law Elfie Jeeves and Gail Jernslet and many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Oakville, Ontario, Peggy met Errol at Eaton’s Department store where they both worked. After they married, they moved to Victoria and then to Armstrong, BC where they raised thoroughbred racehorses. In 1974, they moved to Courtenay where they built their dream home and started a family in Dove Creek. Peggy was passionate about gardening, her animals, classic cars, and cruising. Her happiest moments were spent basking in the sun on her deck, with her cats at her feet. Peggy will be remembered for her fierce independence, strong will, and "feistiness."
