July 16th 2025. He was predeceased by his wife Audrey, June 2021, and his sister Denise in April of this year.
He married the love of his life, Audrey, in 1967 and was posted to Lahr Germany shortly after with the Canadian Air Force as a firefighter.
Bill and Audrey returned from Germany to put down roots in the Comox Valley, where they spent the rest of their lives happily together. They enjoyed curling, camping, travelling in their motorhome and going on cruises. In 2006 Audrey retired from the School District and Bill from the Armed Forces. He worked for Superior Propane for a while and while working for them he met Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson (age 6) needing assistance. He helped them out without any fanfare. He traded the propane truck for a school bus and drove that for many enjoyable years.
With the natural white hair and beard, Bill enjoyed playing Santa Clause for many children and their families. He had a unique sense of humour which he retained right up until the end. He enjoyed cooking and hosting theme dinners.
Bill’s health declined with a pacemaker and then Parkinson’s. Travel plans were put on hold. A year after Audrey’s sudden death he sold their home and moved into, assisted living at Casa Loma. There he spent the last 3 years. Bill passed away peacefully with his loving nieces Joni and Judi as well as his good friend Rick by his side. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
He has now gone to be with the love of his life Audrey!
