Gerry’s favourite things were the outdoors, wind, woods, and water. He was most at home outside in nature. He loved the simple things in life, which included sharing his many memories and stories with all that knew him. Beloved husband of the late Trudy. Loving father to Doris(Randy), Gerald(Winy), Rob(Jacquie), and Elke(Tim). Proud Opa to Dara(Nick), Danielle(Pat), Garrett, Brieanna, and Olivia, and Great-Opa to Tyla, Damien and Liara, and Step-Opa to Nick. Brother to his dear sister Lore, and cherished uncle to Monika, Carmen and John, Henning(of Germany), Markus(of Germany) and the late Philipp. Brother-in-law to Elke(the late Hans). Gerry will be dearly missed by all of his many extended family and friends.

Arrangements entrusted to Courtice Funeral Chapel(1587 Durham Hwy 2, Courtice, ON L1E 2R7). In keeping with Gerry’s wishes cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service will be held. A Celebration of Life for Gerry will be held on Sunday January 27, 2019 from 1p.m. – 4p.m. at Club Loreley (389 Dean Avenue, Oshawa). If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society are greatly appreciated.
