Mr. Wilson was one of my favourite teachers while I was at Eastdale.  I am truly sad to hear of his passing. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Alexis, Mark and Melinda and family,  I just wanted to pass along my condolences with Keith's death.  I was very shocked and saddened to hear of this terrible news.  Keith was a part of the amazing group of Math teachers who so warmly welcomed me to the Math department that first year I taught grade 9 Math.  Keith was a very accepting and helpful man who taught from his heart and I will never forget how he encouraged me that I could set the final exam for all the grade 9 students to write, no pressure, he had faith in me.  He will be sadly missed and I pray as you experience those sad and dark days that you will be able to cling to the beautiful memories of the wonderful man he was.

I am deeply saddened to hear the unfortunate news of Mr. Wilson. I thoroughly enjoyed having him as a teacher and his simple ways of reaching out to students with his mathematical sense of humour. He always referred to this poster that hung up in his classroom that states, "Never give up," and believe that not only did he enjoy seeing students excell in his classroom, he simply found pure joy in never giving up on his students. He always offered extra assignments and help to make you a better student and strive for excellence in any small way. Truly a remarkable teacher and influential to many, you will be dearly missed.

Word has spread quickly among Eastdale Alumni, of the loss if an incredible teacher. Mr. Wilson truly took the time to make math fun, and more importantly, to build a rapport with his students. I remember sitting in on a parent-teacher conference with Mr. Wilson, while my mom relayed the story of watching and listening to me as I apparently solved calculus equations on the blackboard...in my sleep! Mr. Wilson was a great teacher and most definitely among the select ones that influenced my decision to pursue a career in teaching. My prayers are with you all for your comfort and peace.

Keith's life was too short yet it was remarkable.He knew true and enduring love; he was an esteemed colleague; he was a remarkable teacher who touched the lives of so many throughout his thirty-four year career. Mr. Wilson was my first highschool math teacher at Eastdale and the teacher that made the transition from elementary school the easiest on me. I have nothing but the fondest memories of him and I am sadened to hear of his passing. My deepest condolences are extended to the family... Keith was a great person.

Alexa: I was so sorry to see the notice of Keith's death in yeaterday's paper. It was, indeed, my pleasure to count him as a colleague and friend for the 32 years we worked together in the Math department at Eastdale. Keith was the teacher I always wanted to be. Along with his knowledge of his subject, he had just the right combination of humour and seriousness added to his mastery of the craft of teaching to impart that knowledge to his students in a way that allowed them to learn and to enjoy the learning. Besides the help he was always willing to offer a colleague, I also remember the many times sitting at the lunch table just chatting and, of course, his skill at the Cryptic Crossword. 
My sincere condolences to you and your family. You are in  my thoughts at this time.

Mr. Wilson was an amazing teacher.  He made learning math fun, always told corny math jokes and when he tought me (probably 15 years ago) he wore a pair of white running shoes with a square root symbol that were his "math shoes".  He will be missed.

I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Wilson's passing. He taught both my daughters math at Eastdale. His sense of humour and passion for teaching math helped both of them greatly. Seeing him at Parent-Teacher nights was always a pleasure. I was always a happy mom when I saw Mr. Wilson's name on one of my girls' timetables each September. I will miss Mr. Wilson a lot. He was my favourite teacher of all-time & was a great math teacher. He was a GREAT teacher & LOVED to teach & his students.

Mr. Wilson made a huge impact in my life. One of the reasons I took mathematics at university was because of his guidance. Mr Wilson was the one 'Great' teachers this world desperately needs. He will be forever missed.

I was so sorry to hear about Keith's illness and then his passing Alexa.  It was always a pleasure working with him and I especially enjoyed his viewpoint about whatever was going on. His wit and humour was always so appreciated by all he came in contact with.  My deepest sympathy to you, Melinda, Mark and your entire family.

My condolences to the family, Mr Wilson was a great teacher and I remember him well, for math was not my best subject. Mr, Wilson and the late Mr Sutherland would both devise away for me to comprehend the problem. Mr. Wilson would always offer his time after class or lunch to help me. His humour would always chear me up when I was frustrated. I will never forget him. Godspeed.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Keith's passing.  Keith was a phenomenal Math teacher. He was passionate about Math, about teaching, and most of all, about teaching Math. He made Math fun, and his students bought in to the idea that they could all do Math. Not only was Keith dedicated to his students, but he really cared about them and wanted to see them do well. His students loved him- he was everyone's favourite Math teacher. His classroom door was always open for students and colleagues.
Keith was a quiet leader- he lead by example.  He was always willing to share his knowledge and expertise with his colleagues, especially new teachers like myself.  I have always looked up to Keith as a mentor and have strived to follow his example in my own teaching practice. I continue to use the worksheets, PowerPoint Presentations and math sayings that Keith created with my students.  
My heart goes out to Alexa, Mark, Melinda and family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Keith will be truly missed by his colleagues and students.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Wilson.  When I think of my years at Eastdale, both the Wilson's come to mind! When I think of Calculus, I think of Mr Wilson!  A heartfelt "Thanks" for being a positive influence on my life!

There are no words to express my sadness. So sorry for your loss Alexa, Mark and Melinda. I was truly blessed to have worked next door to Keith at ECVI. I looked up to his amazing skill and energy in the classroom. His talents were freely shared. He took generosity and professionalism to heights I could only aspire to. He told me we were born to teach and as obvious as that comment is, he made me understand that we can always do better.  He was an amazing role model. His sense of humour, so dry and sharp. You had to listen carefully because his zinger might come at any moment, even as he was calculating on the chalk board. I had to be ready to respond in an appropriate manner. I will miss you Keith, but I know your legacy, inside and outside of the classroom and Eastdale, will continue on for a very very  long time.

My thoughts are with the Wilson family. Mr Wilson was the best teacher ever! I had him for 3 years of math during highschool, and he never once gave up on me no matter how much I disliked math. He was always willing to sit down and take the time to teach his students and make sure they understood it. He will be missed by so many!!

My thoughts go out to the Wilson family.  Keith was a remarkable teacher and mentor.  He was such a natural teacher and I know how much the students loved him.  His students would always tell me that he kept a tight ship, but he made math fun and ensured their understanding.  As a newer teacher and his colleague in the Eastdale Math department, I learned so much from him.  To this day, I still use many of his worksheets and slideshows he created, “Willy Big Presents…” in my own classroom.   I am truly blessed to have known and worked with Keith.  He will be terribly missed.

Dear Alexa, Mark and Melinda:

I am so sorry to hear of Keith's passing. I have many many fond memories of Keith from my childhood. Some of my most vidid memories of time with Keith include playing in the field behind your house, swimming in your pool and making Christmas crafts and gingerbread houses almost every year. Sean and I are so happy we were able to celebrate our wedding with Keith in attendance. He will most definitely be very missed by all who had the priviledge of knowing him.

Hearing of Mr. Wilson's passing is leaving me with a heavy heart today. I was blessed to have him as my homeroom teacher in Grade 9 & Grade 10 math. He was, by far, the most selfless, brilliant man I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. He introduced me to secondary school and prepared me at the most basic level for my future endeavours. His humour was always well received from students and no faculty member was as committed to seeing his students succeed as he was. My deepest condolences to his family at this time. I am forever grateful for the lessons he taught me & aspire to be even half as wonderful of a teacher as he was. In his own light hearted words, "simply-fly."

What a sad thing to hear, love and thoughts to you Alexa and your family xo.  The kids often talk about Keith, he was, by far, their favourite Math teacher EVER....all   4 of our kids were privileged enough to have him, some more than once.  Amanda Chambers will use little things he taught her about teaching, rather than math, as she begins her career as a teacher.  We are thankful our kids had him, I am thankful to have known him.  Don't forget...."Date your notes.....take them out for dinner and a movie!" xoxo

Keith was a natural teacher. He seemed to have the students eating out of his hands. He had a dry humour and we enjoyed the daily cryptic crossword. Keith provided excellence guidance and leadership as Assistant Head and then Head of Mathematics at Eastdale. I admired him greatly. He will be missed.
