

his brother Jay, sisters Lois and Carol. The family lived in La Puente, CA
where the younger Loudon’s grew up on Bamboo Street.
Growing up, Charles loved racing go-carts with his brother Jay and was in competition swimming in La
Puente High School. He was an avid lover of music and very knowledgeable of music in his era and
Black Gospel Music He knew all the TV shows that he grew up with and later before he passed away,
he would say “Oh look, that person is no longer alive,” a reminder of time passing and seasons of life
coming to a closure.
Charles served his country during the Viet Nam War from December 16, 1968 to July 19, 1970 in the
U.S. Army Corp. Charles tour of duty included Cambodia and Viet Nam, serving his country
honorably. He was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and
Vietnam Campaign Medal
When he returned from the service Charles worked in the paper company industry and belonged to the
Teamster Union. In 1974 Charles and Tessa became neighbors and friends. In 1982 they began their
family with Tessa’s son Brandon Taylor and in 1983 their newborn twins Shane and Reannna were born
followed by sons Everett and Cory Loudon. Charles and Tessa later enjoyed the addition of their
grandchildren to their family, Audrey, Moyo, Joshua, Mathew, Iley and Isaiah. For a season, Charles
attended Calvary Apostolic Church where he received the Holy Spirit. Charles and Tessa were married
by Pastor Ted Molander in 1984.
Charles was known to everyone as “Snappy” for obvious reasons that described him some of the times,
but he was also known to be a very giving person who would help others that were in need. “Snappy”
became officially declared disabled in 2003 from injuries he had sustained in Vietnam due to Agent
Orange.
Charles Loudon, husband, father, brother, grandfather and good friend, you will be missed by those who
knew and loved him unconditionally. Charles is survived by:
