August “Pat” Joseph Burmaster, a long time resident of Folsom and Covington, LA passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023 at his home in Folsom. He was born July 17, 1966 to August Joseph “A.J.” and Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Burmaster of Mandeville, LA.
Pat was a graduate of Mandeville High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, before beginning his career in residential construction. He was licensed as a Building Contractor and Electrician before starting Burmaster Construction, a residential construction business, in 1991 with his wife Laurie. Pat previously served on the Board of Directors for St. Tammany Parish Home Builders Association.
Pat pursued his love for horses and riding by participating in numerous cutting horse competitions in Louisiana and surrounding states, sponsored by the National Cutting Horse Association. He was the 2010 NCHA $5000 Novice Horse/Non-Pro Champion on his horse Colonel Pickin.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Laurie Lynn (Pisani) Burmaster and his sons Justin Burmaster and Matthew Burmaster of Folsom, LA. He is also survived by his parents A.J. and Liz Burmaster of Mandeville, LA; his sister Karen Lynne (Burmaster) Carter (G.J.) of Mandeville, LA; his nieces Aeli, Jordan, and Anna Carter; and his favorite aunt Anna Laura Warren of Belle Chasse, LA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 12:00 Noon with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM. A reception will follow services at Grace Funeral Home.
Burial will take place privately in St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden under the direction of Grace Funeral Home.
