Brian Christopher Fabregas, 34, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away at Lakeview Hospital after several days in the ICU following sudden heart failure while doing what he loved most—coaching his oldest son in baseball.
Born in New Orleans, Brian embodied the spirit of the city he loved so dearly. A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. Many in our community called him coach.
He is survived by his beloved wife Liz Fabregas, and their two sons, Brody (7) and Jaxon (5), whom he adored and guided with unwavering love and commitment. He is also survived by his twin brother Chad Fabregas (Tara), his father Edward Fabregas, Aunt Dawn, Aunt April, Aunt Eileen (David), Uncle Keith (Tammy), Uncle Clarence, and a large extended family of in laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gaynell Romero.
Brian’s life was a living testimony of his faith, kindness, and generosity. His impact was deeply felt in his home, church, workplace, and throughout his community. He gave his heart to everyone he met, always seeking to uplift, serve, and connect.
A passionate coach, Brian especially loved baseball. Whether on the field or at home, he mentored not only in sport but in character, striving to help young boys grow into strong, respectful young men. His joy also lived in riding in the Endymion parade, cheering on the Saints, attending Jazz Fest, making magical memories at Disney World, and spending every moment possible with his family.
Brian’s sudden passing has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. His life, though far too short, was full of purpose, faith, and love.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Grace Funeral Home & St. Lazarus of Bethany Garden, 450 Holy Trinity Dr., Mandeville, LA 70433.
Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 pm.
