Eugenia “Genie” (Delise) Roche, 79, passed away on August 20, 2023 after a brief illness. A resident of Mandeville, Genie spent her formative years in the French Quarter before raising her family in Harahan for over 30 years. She is survived by her two loving sons: Shawn (Kelly) and Donald (Hollis); four grandchildren: Ian, Christian, Brennan, & Ashlyn Roche; her sister and best friend: Carmel (Delise) Lambert; sisters-in-laws: Sandra Roche, Glenda Delise, & Camille Delise; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Roche; brothers: Martin (Glenda) and Peter Delise (Camille); and brothers-in-law: Robert “Bob” Lambert & Gerald “Jerry” Roche.
A much beloved Mama, Mimi, and friend to all, Genie loved family game nights and card games with friends. Her passion was her family and spending time with them meant the world to her. A graduate of St. Louis Cathedral School and Annunciation High School, Genie worked in legal and title fields for many years. Genie is retired from Delta Title Corporation of Metairie, where she worked as a Notarial Secretary. Before and after retirement, Genie volunteered with the WYES-TV Showboat & Art Collection 12 auctions. Genie loved that her grandsons continued her brother Peter’s legacy and was a proud Brother Martin Crusaders grandmother.
A celebration of life will be held September 23rd at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Shawn Roche in Harahan, LA.
