

Florence Rita Schilling Hoffmann passed away peacefully at her home in Mandeville on Saturday evening, July 23, 2022. She was 64 years old. Beloved wife of Jeffrey Paul Hoffmann for over 21 years. Loving mother of Rebecca Miller Garcie (Jeffrey), Mollie Jeanne Miller Merrett (Andrew), Jon Paul Hoffmann (Megan), and Andrew Robert Hoffmann (Amanda). Grandmother of Hunter Hoffmann, Brentley Hoffmann, Skylar Merrett, Sadie Merrett, and William Hoffmann. Sister of John Schilling (Chris), Mary McCain (John), George Schilling, and Ann Margaret Moreno (Joe). Daughter of the late Ann and George Schilling. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Florence was a native of New York City and grew up in The Bronx. She has lived in the Mandeville area for close to 30 years. Among her many other occupations, Florence was most proud to be a registered nurse. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a B.S.N. and devoted over 15 years in her nursing vocation at Lakeview Regional Hospital. She was known to be a very dedicated and caring patient advocate. She was a devout Catholic, loving wife, mother, and a doting grandmother. Everyone knew Florence to have a green thumb, she loved gardening, traveling, and was hands down the best baker in town.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend her Memorial Mass at OUR LADY OF THE LAKE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 Lafitte Street, Mandeville, on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 12:00 noon. A gathering time will begin in church at 11:30 in the morning. Inurnment will follow in St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington.
