

Hillary is survived by his beloved wife Ada Brown, to whom he was married 63 years; his children Debbie Ponseti (Kyle), Annette Curren, and Sharon Bourg (Stephen); five grandchildren Monica Hanzo, Jessica Hanzo, Patrick Curren, Blake Bourg and Brandon Bourg; three step-grandchildren Danielle Ponseti-Gray (John-Mark), Valerie Ponseti, and Samantha Ponseti; and two great-grandchildren Maisy and Myles. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Hillary is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Edna Hernandez, Clarence Brown, Hodges Brown, and Elton Brown, granddaughter Baby Curren, and son-in-law Kevin Hanzo.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War before working at the Jax Brewery for 31 years and then joining the International Long Shoreman Association as a stevedore for 18 years.
“Brown” enjoyed staying active with fishing and hunting in his early years. Later in life, he was an avid gardener, having the most beautiful red roses, and the most manicured, plush lawn. He loved watching football, basketball and baseball, especially the New York Yankees, and discussing this with his grandkids. He also enjoyed trips with his wife to the gulf coast casinos.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Grace Funeral Home (450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon. Graveside Services with Military Honors will follow at St Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden.
