Jim is survived by his children Jim (DeMarias) Sojka, Lynn (Jim) Schab; four grandchildren Lauren (Schab) Catts, Kristin (Schab) McCann, Kara Schab, and Amelie Sojka. He is also survived by two sisters, Peggy Sojka and Henrietta (Al) Remack.
Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Carol Sojka.
Jim spent his life talking to people. As a sales rep for an international machinery company and then as VP of Sales for an international tooling company, he always got to the heart of what you needed and made sure that you were good to go. That was his philosophy through life: do it and do it right – and have fun while you’re doing it!
While in high school he enlisted in the Navy. That experience was always on the forefront of his mind. He would often go up to any and all service members and welcome them home or give a gentle handshake.
He and his wife loved to go on cruises, amassing a total of over 40 cruises to various parts of the world. If you asked him how it was, he’d tell you “terrific.” That was Jim. How are you? Terrific! Want to grab some dinner? Terrific!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas on December 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at Place of Peace Columbarium in Bristow where he will be laid to rest with his wife.
