Mayvon was an unusual kind, generous and loving person. She was born in New Orleans where she lived surrounded by her family for 35 years. She met her husband, Jim, in the banking business where they were both employed. Together they enjoyed their mutual friends while going to the Saints games and other social events. In 1974, they moved to Mandeville, again surrounded by family, while they awaited the birth of their daughter, Stacey. After their daughter was born, Mayvon did not return to work immediately. She spent many hours enjoying her daughter while also watching one or two of her numerous nephews or nieces. She adored children and found her most precious moments with them. While Stacey was in school at Our Lady of the Lake, Mayvon put in many hours volunteering there. In the 80’s, she went back to the banking business in Mandeville and surrounding areas. Mayvon loved caring for her daughter, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and recently her great-grand nephews. She enjoyed traveling with her mother and sister, Herbeth, on trips to Europe and our Gulf Coast. She spent many hours with her extended family on Mandeville’s lakefront. She was a good cook and homemaker for her family. She will be missed by her family and friends, but we will always hold her in our hearts.
