Stephen Greene

Stephen “Steve” Greene, 56 of Covington passed away on December 22, 2025 at University Medical Center in New Orleans. He was born on December 12, 1969 in Camden, New Jersey to the late Stephen Greene Sr. and Sandra Johnston Werner. Steve is preceded in death by his father; brother, Thomas “Tom” Greene; and step father, George Werner.

Steve grew up on the North Shore and graduated from Covington High School. After graduation Steve decided to go back to New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers University. Steve later went on to get his Masters Degree from University of New Orleans. Steve worked for a variety of retail stores throughout the country. His last position was a regional manager for Spirit Halloween Stores, which he enjoyed.

Steve was a talented vocalist who was a member of the Gay Men’s Chorus. He was also involved in sponsoring teens in a 12 step recovery program. Steve was an extremely outgoing and funny person, who was always trying to get a laugh. He was a very social individual who was the life of the party. Steve was a very caring individual who was a loving son, brother, and friend to so many. His legacy lives on in all of us, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Steve is survived by his loving mother, Sandy Werner; and his cherished companion, Jeff Boudreaux. Steve also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
