Wes made the Northshore his home in 1976 where he became a successful entrepreneur and pillar of the community. He developed life-long friendships with many fellow business owners, professionals and people from all walks of life. Among his many accomplishments, Wes owned and operated Favaloro’s / Sit & Sleep, and co-developed the community of Heritage Heights. He provided a place of employment for many young men, serving as a mentor and a role model.
His golfing obsession stirred his passion for competition; with his golfing buddies (and almost everyone else), he engaged in another set of genuine passions – jokes, stories and laughter, often proudly a bit off-color. Wes had a further passion for his camps – first on Lake Pontchartrain and the Tangipahoa River, later in Bay St. Louis. He experienced true calm and contentment in these spots, surrounded by his family.
Wes fought cancer with the same vigor he met all challenges in life, and he ended his battle with grace and dignity, as he did throughout the highs and lows of a life well lived. He passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family. He moved on with the satisfaction of a patriarch who led and nurtured his family, and with the knowledge that his imprint on their lives will never be forgotten.
