Ashton Kyle Cheney

He was the first-born child of Gabriel and Janelle Cheney of Craig, Colorado. Five days before his death, Ashton was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, an incurable condition of the heart.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandmother: Renita Cheney of Belle Fourche, SD; his paternal great-grandparents: Clair and Marlene Mortensen of Findley, OH; his maternal grandparents: Ivan and Melodie Zook of Craig, CO: and maternal great-grandparents: Lee and Betty Schrock of Craig, CO; Mattie Zook of Zanesville OH; and many uncles and aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two uncles: John and Lazarus Cheney; an aunt: Leah Cheney; his paternal grandfather, Luke Cheney and maternal great-grandfather Jacob Zook.

A viewing will be held at Craig Mennonite Church, 285 CR 7, Craig, CO, on Monday, April 27, 2020 from 9:00 to 11:00. If you wish to attend please be aware that in light of current requirements and our efforts to comply, we will be asking that you remain in your vehicle until the ushers let you know when you can enter. We will be attempting to maintain a maximum of 10 people in the building at any given time.

Funeral service will be held privately. Interment will follow at Craig cemetery.
