

Born August 8, 1943 in Chicago to Hearl and Nellie Viola (Lambert) Marsh, she married Earl Norman Spangler on February 18, 1962 in Peoria. He died November 19, 2020 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and four sisters, Joyce Callear, Patricia Carrington, Aleisha Marsh and Loretta Heartsfield.
Surviving are one daughter, Audra Roberts of Bartonville; two granddaughters, Taylor Roberts and Kylee Roberts, both of Bartonville; four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Skyelin, Ryker and Cleo; one sister, Sheila Test of Bellevue; one brother, Jerry Marsh of Pekin and many nieces and nephews.
A homemaker and stay-at-home mom, Barbara loved camping, vacationing, gardening and attending church. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family.
She had a caring and helping heart that would help anyone in their time of need. She always put others first and would never complain.
Barbara was proud of her granddaughters and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them outdoors. Maw Maw, Mimi and mom will be greatly missed.
Her daughter will always be proud of what her mom accomplished in her life. She was always there when Audra needed her, even being her secret holder from her dad.
Barbara was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship Church in North Pekin. She was very active serving for many years cooking for events and volunteering at Church Camp in Wisconsin for hundreds of kids.
Barbie Doll, as known at Villas of Holly Brook will be greatly missed by all her awesome family there.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Pastor Chuck Wilcox will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
