Dorothy Kelso

Born October 10, 1941 in East Peoria to Raymond and Mary (Mader) Peckenpaugh, she married Marion Kelso on November 8, 1961. He died on March 22, 2009.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Marlin “Marty” Kelso; one sister, Louise Fowler and four brothers, Ray Peckenpaugh, Robert Peckenpaugh, Harold Peckenpaugh and Lyle Peckenpaugh.

Surviving are her daughter, Barbara (Tim) Gough of East Peoria; her son’s long-term partner, Tina Martinez of East Peoria; three grandsons, Nathan Gough, Ben Gough and Matt Gough; two sisters, Jean Elsey and Gerri Kelso, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

A homemaker, Dorothy loved her family. She enjoyed crafting, especially coloring and reading romance books. Watching shows like Law and Order and Walker Texas Ranger were some of her favorites.

She was of the Christian Faith.

Her graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Fon du Lac Township Cemetery in East Peoria.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
