

Born in Mountain Grove, Missouri to Fred and Edith (French) Shannon, he married Doris Faye Cope on August 13, 1965 in Mountain Grove, Missouri.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years; one daughter, Stephanie (Shannon) Andrews of East Peoria; one son, Steve (Renee) Shannon of Cabool, Missouri; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon (Paul) Beilman of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mary Lou (Randy) Bennett of Mountain Grove, Missouri and one brother, Lewis (Claudia) Shannon of Shawnee, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter, Monrhowe Aaron; one sister, Daisy Moore and one brother, John Shannon.
Harold had worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for 43 years in the transmission department retiring in 2008. He was a member of the UAW Local 974 in East Peoria.
A loving and dedicated husband, dad and grandpa, Harold enjoyed spending time with his family and doing photography.
His local visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
An additional visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home in Cabool, Missouri. His graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in West Plains, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to help offset expenses.
