

Born December 2, 1943 in Peoria to William and Goldie (Rifley) Maddox, he married Loretta Miller on May 19, 1967 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Margaret “Renee” Williams of Butler, Alabama; four grandchildren, Timmy, Sarah, Cody and Taylor; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Lillian) Maddox of Washington and Richard (Melody) Maddox of Texas; and two sisters, Patricia Hendrick of Bartonville and Sharon (Robert) Merrill of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jerry Maddox, Jr.; four brothers, Carl Maddox, William Maddox, Paul Maddox, Robert Maddox; two sisters, Marilyn Williams and Ellen Jane Lynch; and one grandson, Steven Kessler.
Jerry worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 2011 as an iron pourer.
He loved camping at Condits Ranch in Henry and watching television, especially golf and old western movies.
There will be a gathering celebrating Jerry’s life at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
