

Born June 27, 1956 in Peoria to William Harris and Lois Eileen (Sill) Adams, Sr., he married Carol Sue Diefendorf on July 12, 1975 in Bartonville. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Stephanie (Matthew) Hite of Moweaqua; one son, William “Billy” (Ashley) Adams, III of Marquette Heights; five grandchildren, Larissa Hite, Cade Hite, Camilla Hite, Averee Adams and Brayden Adams; two brothers, Harris (Peggy) Adams of Peoria and Stan (Laura) Adams of Marquette Heights and three sisters, Betty (Gene) Dozard of Sunnyland, Julie (Bob Weaver) Stocker-Adams of Quincy and Connie Adams of Princeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Wayne Garland Adams, Kenneth Clay Adams and Ronald Adams.
Bill retired from Champion Furnace and Pipe Company in Peoria, where he worked as lead man in the clip department. He was a retired member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 1 in Peoria.
He was a devoted member and former elder of Creve Coeur Christian Church. Bill formerly served the church as a Bible bowl coach, youth leader and as a member of the Rainbows End Preschool Board. He enjoyed bowling and playing softball with the church too.
Bill loved baseball and was a longtime St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also was a fan of the Gaithers and the band Alabama.
His funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2025 at Creve Coeur Christian Church. Pastor Bill Holley and Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 3:45 p.m. Monday at the church. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
