

She was born March 14, 1933, in Lory, WV, the daughter of Maletus E. and Mollie E. Hill Holstein, of Julian, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill, granddaughter Beth Kerns, great granddaughter Emmy Kerns; brothers Roy and Dennis Holstein, sisters Ruth LeMasters, JoAnn Chambers and infant sister Leatha Jane Holstein.
Artie was a 1950 graduate of Scott High School. As well as being a devoted wife and mother she was a bookkeeper by trade and retired from Mouldagraph Corp after twenty years of service. She was a Christian by faith and demonstrated a true servant’s heart from her many years of service as music director, pianist and organist as a past member of Dunbar First Baptist Church. She was caring, dedicated, compassionate, and adventurous as she loved vacationing and traveling to visit family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Penny Kerns (Butch), Marietta, GA, Teri Smith (Harry), of Marietta, GA, Timothy Boggess (Sheila), of Scott Depot, WV, Pat Jones (Steve), of Harrisville, WV, Rose Kult (Dan), of Greer, SC, grandchildren, Beki (Rich), Scott (Britany), Kristen (Jon), Harry IV (Mook), Derek, Clint (Lauren), Paige (Tim), Lydia, Aaron, Valerie, Vanessa, Sophie, Cheyenne, Stephen, Madison (Tom), Jason (Megan), Melanie (Jaryd), Ben, Rachel (Chris), Stephanie (Ben), Meredith (Tyler), Alex (Noel), great grandchildren, Kevin, Jude, Elle, Kailee, Ada, Dawson, Davis, Markee, Caroline, Walker, Charlotte, Levi, Lillian, Lyla, Miciah (Kaylee), Kyra, Imela, Owen, Miles, Jonas, Isla, Evie, Tahlia, Pippa, Leif, Ramsey, Josiah, Elliott, Hazel, Margot, Maren, and Ellis; sister-in-law Jeanie Lindsey, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Artie’s life will be 12:00 P.M. Friday, February 13, 2026, at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 10 until time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the music department of Dunbar First Baptist Church, 311 16th Street, Dunbar, WV 25064.
