Barbara Ann Alderson Stull, age 85, passed away on February 26, 2025, at Three Rivers Health & Rehab Center in West Point, VA. She was born on June 26, 1939, in Charleston, WV, to the late Herald and Pauline Alderson.
Barbara grew up at 1319 13th Street in Nitro, WV, before settling in Falls Church, VA, with her husband, Norvel Eldon Stull, whom she married on November 24, 1961, in Kanawha County, and they cherished one another the remainder of their days.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Norvel, and her sister Carolyn Sue Mechalske.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Stull McCartney (fiancé Joe), and her son, Steven Michael Stull Sr. (Beth). She was a loving grandmother to Kelly Haley (Kris), Kenneth McCartney (Lauren), Steven Stull Jr. (Ashley), Jennifer Stull, Ashley Stull, Jason Stull, and Hallie Stull. Barbara reveled in her role as a great-grandmother to Sophia Kiker, Royalty Webb, Aria Kiker, Kimmie Haley, Evey McCartney, Levi Stull and Ember Foxx.
A devoted homemaker, Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had an infectious love of life, always ready with a smile, a laugh, and a warm embrace for those around her. Barbara had a natural talent for making others feel special, and her laughter could brighten any room.
Barbara had a passion for capturing special moments long before the convenience of cell phone cameras. She carried her camera everywhere, capturing countless memories for her family and friends. Her love for taking pictures was a testament to her desire to hold on to and share life's precious moments.
She enjoyed her nightly phone conversations with her childhood best friend, Patsy Pritt, and keeping in touch with many other friends and family members. She attended “phone church” services every Sunday with Kanawha Valley Baptist Church.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, with a celebration of life beginning immediately after at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 2533 Rocky Fork Rd, Cross Lanes, WV 25313, with Rev. Mark Stump officiating. She will be laid to rest at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
