

Betty was born in Charleston, on June 15, 1925 to the late Matthew and Bessie Geene. Betty was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and sister.
Betty loved to bowl, make ceramics, gardening, and swimming. She and her late husband Earl loved to play golf, square dancing, camping, play bridge and travel. They travelled extensively to all 50 states, Canada, and overseas to Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, England and Austria.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years Earl Johnson, daughter Diana Boggs, sisters, Dorothy, Joanie, Charlotte and brother Ralph (Buster).
Betty is survived by her son Jerry and daughter-in-law Donna, son-in-law Chuck, grandchildren Steven, Krista, Chuck III and Kari, great grandchildren Timothy and Brittan, Alicyn and Joshua, Courtney and Jacob, Justin, Madison, Emma and great great granddaughter Emberlyn, many nieces and nephews, friends and her church family.
Betty was a long standing member of Highlawn Presbyterian where she had served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. She also was a member of the Highlawn Civic Club.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be 1:00 Saturday January 24, 2026 with Pastor John Nelson officiating.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
