

Betty Jones Workman, 92, of Elkview, passed away April 30, 2017, with her family by her side. She was born April 17, 1925, in Charleston, a daughter of Charles P. and Alta Allen Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Rexford E. Workman; brothers, Delbert, Olen and Mike Jones; sister, Mary Hafer; and great-granddaughter, Sadie Jo Workman, and great-grandson, Baby Workman. Betty retired from the West Virginia State Tax Department and was co-founder and partner in Big Chimney Income Tax Service. She was a member of the Eastern Star and she was a born-again Christian. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her. Betty is survived by her daughter, Angela W. Plymale and her husband, Richard; sons, Terry D. Workman and his wife, Jo Ann, C. E. "Bugs" Workman and Rexford E. Workman Jr. and his wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Bethany Plymale, Teresa Harris, Tasha Parsons, Luke, Brandon and Lawrence Workman; great-grandsons, Landon Harris and Chase Workman; many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Betty;s life will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 5, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans, with Rev. Dale Wolfingbarger officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. There will be a gathering of family and friends from noon until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
